Up to
$8,000
toward a new AC system
If you live in Arizona and are ready to replace an aging system, you could qualify for up to $8,000 toward a new, energy-efficient AC system — thanks to the Efficiency Arizona program. As of September 1, all system types qualify, including all-electric systems and mini-splits.
All-electric systems and mini-splits are now included in the $8,000 funding
Efficiency Arizona widened what counts. You no longer need to be replacing gas equipment — every HVAC system type now qualifies, and a ductless mini-split install can be covered as part of the same $8,000. If you were told before that your system didn’t qualify, that may have changed.

Thinking about replacing your old AC system? If you live in Arizona, you may qualify for up to $8,000 in rebates through the new Efficiency Arizona program. This government-funded initiative helps homeowners upgrade to energy-efficient electric systems and lower their energy bills.
This is part of a new statewide initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and managed by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency, designed to help homeowners across the state upgrade to electric, high-efficiency HVAC systems.
Who Qualifies for the Arizona AC Rebate?
If you’re in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, or anywhere else in Arizona, you may be eligible if:
1
You have an HVAC system to replace or upgrade
Any system type counts — gas furnace, gas-powered central HVAC, or an all-electric system. A ductless mini-split install can qualify too. If your current equipment is aging, undersized, or expensive to run, it’s worth checking.
Updated September 1: a gas system is no longer required. All-electric systems and ductless mini-split installs now qualify for the same $8,000 in funding.

Your household income fits within local income guidelines (based on area and family size)
Income eligibility is determined using your Area Median Income (AMI) — a standard set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The threshold changes depending on:
Where you live in Arizona (county or metro area)
How many people are in your household (including children)
150%
of local AMI
To qualify, your household income must fall at or below 150% of your local AMI. This ensures the program supports Arizona families who need it most. If you’re unsure where you fall, don’t worry — we’ll help you figure it out with a quick eligibility check.
